#Seared Tuna

Ingredients

  • 1 lbs sushi grade tuna cut into logs about 1 1/2 inches square
  • MISO SAUCE
  • 1 Tbs white miso
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp soy
  • 2 Tbsp sake
  • 2 Tbsp honey or brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp veg oil
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • AVOCADO WASABI
  • 1/2 lime
  • 1 or more tsp wasabi
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil (maybe less)
  • CONDIMENTS
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Pickled ginger
  • Toasted white and black sesame seeds
  • Sushi trout roe

Directions

  1. Whisk all miso sauce ingredients together and set aside
  2. Purée all Avocado ingredients until smooth and set aside
  3. Coat all sides of tuna in soy sauce
  4. Pepper all sides of tuna with black pepper
  5. Sear all sides of tuna on medium high heat for 30 seconds each side
  6. Slice tuna and serve with the above condiments
