1In a small saucepan, toast the teff over medium heat, stirring frequently, until fragrant, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove the pot from the heat and carefully add the water (it may spatter).
2Bring the water to a boil, cover, and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the teff is thick and creamy, about 15 minutes.
3Top each serving with a pat of butter, cool, and serve. Let your baby eat with a preloaded spoon or his hands (such fun!). To thin the porridge for parental spoon-feeding, stir in breastmilk or formula.
