Ingredients

  • 1 16 oz. cans Italian tomato puree
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 2 tbsp. grated parmesan or romano cheese
  • 3/4 lb. ground beef
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 3 medium-size onions, chopped
  • 2 large green peppers, chopped
  • 1 lb. mozzarella cheese, grated

Directions

  1. Simmer first five ingredients in frypan for 20-25 min.
  2. In separate frypan, brown ground beef. Remove from pan and reserve. To same pan, add olive oil and lightly sauté the onions & peppers in oil without overcooking.
  3. Spoon half of tomato sauce on top of each pizza shell. Top with the pepper and onion mixture. Sprinkle on mozzarella cheese and cooked beef.
  4. Bake as directed (see Perfect Pizza Dough).
