  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • zest of an entire lemon, about 1 tablespoon

  • Lemon Cream Cheese Icing:
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (brick-style), softened to room temperature
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • zest of an entire lemon, about 1 tablespoon
