Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. Flour
  • 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1 T + 1/4 tsp. Baking soda
  • 1 T. Shortening
  • 1/4 c. Butter
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 c. Buttermilk
  • 3/4 c. Choc. Chips
  • 1/2 egg white

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450
  2. In a large mixing bowl sift together the dry ingredients
  3. Cut in shortening and butter into dry mixture
  4. Make a well
  5. Add egg and then the buttermilk mix well
  6. Dust the chocolate chips with flour then fold into dough
  7. Knead the dough about 10 times
  8. Form dough into a square
  9. Cut dough into triangles
  10. Place them onto baking sheet
  11. Brush them with egg white
  12. Bake for 12-15 minutes
