Tortilla Shells

Ingredients

  • 3 cups organic flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 5 Tbs salted butter, at room temp
  • 1 cup hot water
  • Avocado or olive oil

Directions

  1. Add flour, baking powder, salt, butter & hot water to a large bowl.
  2. Mix well until a shaggy ball develops.
  3. Flour a surface lightly & knead into a smooth ball.
  4. Add back to the bowl, place a damp towel over the bowl & let rise for 10 minutes.
  5. Add dough ball to a flour surface & cut into 12 even pieces.
  6. Roll into balls & then roll with a rolling pin into the size of a tortilla.
  7. Add a small amount of olive oil to a skillet on medium high heat add the tortilla & let cook for 1-2 minutes on each side.
