Turnip Greens

Ingredients

  • 2 small bundles of turnips
  • Fresh Pork neck bones, small pack
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Pepper sauce.

Directions

  1. Place neck bones in a large boiler and add 8 cups of water.
  2. Add 2 tsp salt.
  3. Boil for about 60 min or until meat is tender.
  4. While meat is cooking wash turnips in cold water.
  5. Strip leaves from main vein. Discard vein.
  6. Break turnip greens into small pieces and add to neck bone and water mixture once tender.
  7. Cook until tender. About 40-60 min.
  8. When turnips are cooled, separate meat and greens.
  9. Remove meat from bones.
  10. Remove turnips from water and chop.
  11. Combine meat and chopped turnips and mix.
  12. Serve with pepper sauce.
