Beer Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/2c b sugar, loosely packed
  • 12 oz beer, room temp
  • 3 c self rising flour
  • OR: Mix 3 c regular flour, 4 1/2 tsp b powder and 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 stick butter melted

Directions

  1. Mix b sugar slowly with beer to dissolve. Combine self rising flour and salt. Slowly add liquid. Pouring all over Use spurtle to mix Mix til smooth. @@Bake in greased/ floured large loaf pan. @@Pour melted butter evenly over top , then bake 350 degrees 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Let cool on rack cool completely. Wrap well. Freezes well
  2. Variation: Can add any or all : chopped fresh rosemary 1 tb or more . ///1c shredded sharp cheddar cheese or Parmesan /// or everything bagel seasoning on top
