Beer Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/2c b sugar, loosely packed
  • 12 oz beer, room temp
  • 3 c self rising flour
  • OR: Mix 3 c regular flour, 4 1/2 tsp b powder and 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

Mix b sugar slowly with beer to dissolve. Combine self rising flour and salt. Slowly add liquid. Use spurtle to mix Mix til smooth. Bake in greased/ floured large loaf pan. 350 degrees 35 or until toothpick comes out clean. Spread top with butter. Let cool on rack for 15 minutes. That wrap in foil and cool completely. This will prevent crumbling when slicing.

Variation: Can add any or all : chopped fresh rosemary 1 tb or more . ///1c shredded sharp cheddar cheese or Parmesan ///1tb everything bagel seasoning
