  • Dry dal lentils
  • Shan Meat Masala mix
  • Coriander-cumin mix
  • White jasmine rice

Directions

  1. Steep dal for 12 hours
  2. Rinse dal
  3. Refill water to right above the dal
  4. Bring to boil - watch for overflow
  5. Boil for 10-15 mins or until soft
  6. Garlic-ginger paste in a skillet (watch splatter)
  7. Add Shan Meat Masala (1/2 packet)
  8. Add a dash of Coriander-cumin mixture
  9. Toast until spices are aromatic
  10. Add mixture to dal and cook on high for 10 more minutes then bring to simmer
  11. Soak 1 cup of rice for 10-15 minutes
  12. Then pour out the water and add 1.5 more cups of water and boil
  13. Once boiling leave for 4 minutes
  14. Cover and steam for 10 minutes
